Taunton & District Amateur Radio Club is where I go to meet other people with an interest in radio. It is very HF orientated with a few members who regularly score highly in the many contests that happen each year including portable field day stations and lighthouses on the air. Training course's for the three stage license are held throughout the year and many successful candidates are now licensed and on the air. The club recently moved to the school which you can see on the left. Enabling us to have a permanent club station for the first time in many years, the use of computer equipment including an overhead projector and interactive white board, space to experiment with antennas, and the opportunity to run a special event station open to the public on the open rocket day held at the school each year. They also have strong links to the scouts using the huish woods scout camp for some field day events and providing a station and callsign for Jamboree on the air.
